Hello everyone from a sunny yet chilly Cape Town.
I’d like to welcome you to my first Saturday Six. I was unable to blog yesterday due to home renovations, but I am back today and hope you will enjoy these amazing blog posts I’ve read this week and would like to share with all of you.
Saturday Six is basically like my Friday Five, where I list my six favourite blog posts of the week.
These are posts that have informed, inspired, motivated and made me laugh.
I would like to thank everyone on this list for taking the time to share your knowledge and experiences with us. You have improved my week immensely and I appreciate every word.
Here’s this week’s Saturday Six in alphabetical order:
Pregnancy can be a magical time for most women, but for sufferers of Hyperemesis Gravidarum (like myself) it can be nine months of hell. Hyperemesis Gravidarum is basically extreme morning sickness and occurs in 1% of pregnancies. Beauty by the Green accounts her experience of HG in a passionate and honest post that is dear to my heart.

Lacey’s post is relatable for me as a mom, especially a step-mom as I was “Momxcluded” from a few things at my step-daughter’s school by what I’d call the Bio Mom Club. When we become parents we don’t expect to be ostracised by other parents who are on the same journey as us, but it seems like the middle school clique mentality never ends. Read Lacey’s account of this in her post below.

I love the beauty of these photographs, especially the black and white ones on Derrick’s blog. He captures the subject and landscape perfectly. Take a look at his wonderful work below.

Jenn’s post puts Mom Shamers to rest by showing how she has the TV on during the day and is a good mother at the same time. Each mother raises their child according to what’s best for their child and I commend her for writing this important post.
Mending Mindfully – My Toddler Watches TV All Day and I Am a Good Mother
This cute fine motor activity on Momtessori Life should keep your toddler busy for a while. The best part is that you probably have most of these items on hand and the moment or you can get them from your local dollar store. She always has the best Montessori ideas and activities that you can share with your little one.

We’ve all gone through it – that moment when you sit down to write a blog post and the words won’t come out and you realise that you have writers block. Steph gives seven helpful tips that we can use to unblock our creativity and write at full capacity once again.
Scale it Simple – 7 Tips to Overcome Blogging Writers Block
Thanks again to all of the bloggers who have been mentioned above.

Many thanks Lindsay 🙂 Thankyou for your support and time to read my fledgling posts … This post was one I tried hard not to gabble on about, as not to bore people, but there was so much I could have written!

You are most welcome! I love what you’ve written so far. I’ve been through exactly what you’ve described and words can’t exactly express how you feel in the moment. I hardly left the house for months. Thanks for writing this important post.:) Have a great Sunday

Just seen this. I’m really pleased you found it a decent post as you are right: it is quite difficult to really explain just how it is AFTER you have come out the other side. Although it is clear in your memory, it cannot be described so perfectly. i just want there to be more awareness so women are taken seriously on this physically and mentally exhausting condition, on top of the pregnancy itself! Take care xx

I was basically couch ridden for the first 3 months of the pregnancy. I thought it would get better as time went on, but I eventually found myself almost getting sick on the operating table during my c-section. I’d take morning sickness over HG any day. Have a lovely day and I look forward to reading more of your posts ❤

You poor thing… It’s hideous isn’t it. I was lucky that it passed by the end of pregnancy although I still never felt ‘well’. I couldn’t wait to give birth. Yes morning sickness any day! It makes me feel almost annoyed when people complain about feeling a bit sick…. But that ginger biscuits helped. NOT THE SAME THING! haha have a rest day in sunny Cape Town ! L x
