Using the SPIRAL Method To Edit Your Writing

I use a quick method to edit my blog posts and my book called the SPIRAL method. I’d love to teach it to you today. You probably know a lot of these already, but check out this post just in case.

What does SPIRAL stand for?

S – Spellcheck

P – Punctuation

I – Insert transition words

R – Remove

A – A call to action

L – Let your writing rest

Let’s look at each letter in detail:

Spellcheck – Read your post aloud and look for inconsistencies in spelling. Check whether you have spelled a word incorrectly.

Punctuation – Check that your post has been punctuated correctly. Also include punctuation that you may have missed, such as adding a full stop, comma or quotation mark.
