Hi Everyone!
I hope you are having a lovely Friday so far.
I’ve decided to keep this A – Z Challenge post light (it is Friday, after all) and share images of my son’s first birthday party at the Giraffe House in Cape Town.
Planning and executing children’s parties is a passion of mine and I was so excited to host one for my son. I booked the venue, organised the decor and made most of the food myself. The birthday cake was made by my best friend and we had a great day all round.
The entrance to the Giraffe House.
The decor we had at the party. The venue gave us those little wooden giraffes as party favours. The kids loved them.
Some of the animals we saw. Each of the children were given a feeding bucket and were able to feed certain animals. They absolutely loved it.
We were treated to a free reptile show. It was really great and I kissed a frog:
It was slimy and tasted like algae.
It wouldn’t be the Giraffe House without Gerry. She is so friendly and made the experience so memorable.
The birthday boy. He loved seeing all the animals, running around and having all his friends and family around.
The photos were taken by Maryke van Wyngaard, she is a great local photographer. Check her out on Facebook here.
For more information on the Giraffe House check out their website.
Let me know what you think of this post. Don’t be scared to comment in the box below.
Thanks for reading. I’ll see you again tomorrow for another A – Z Challenge post.
Love and Blessings,
So cute! Looks like a lot of fun.

Thanks. It really was! I love that you can bring a picnic basket and hang out there all day. They have a little park and a jumping castle so the kids have lots of fun.

Sounds perfect. Did you get your decoration ideas from pintrest?

Of course! Haha, with the help of China Town (the dollar store).

What a beautiful little boy! He radiates joy. You did a fantastic job designing the party — is that your profession? Your friend created a gorgeous cake, too. May I ask what flavor it was on the inside?

Thanks so much! It is just a hobby – I’d throw a party for everything if I had half the chance. It was chocolate on top and vanilla on the bottom. We wanted simple flavours that everyone would enjoy.

Lol! You should start planning a party for the final A to Z post right now. And post pictures! 🙂 (Layered flavors are the best!)

Haha. Not a bad idea. I feel like a bit drained by the A – Z challenge this week, because it was the first week. I hope it goes better next week.
